| About Simple FundraiserSimple Fundraiser is a division of the Educational Foundation Support Network, LLC (EFSN). EFSN works with youth and community organizations throughout the west coast; providing a simple and effective approach towards fundraising. There's never been a better time to discover the world of Simple Fundraiser. With $5.4M to contribute in 2008, and up to $50,000 per individual group available each year, you may never have to sell another tub of anything! Our National BudgetOur nation's 2006 budget eliminated dozens of politically sensitive domestic programs, including funding for education. In fact, one out of every three targeted programs in the 2006 budget concerns education.
The budget cuts 48 education programs totaling $4.3 billion, including $2.2 billion for high school programs, $440 million in Safe and Drug-Free School grants, $500 million in education technology state grants, $225 million for the Even Start literacy programs, $280 million for Upward Bound programs for inner-city youths and a $150 million talent research program. These cuts represent only a one (1) percent reduction, however, based on planned budgets, it is estimated by the year 2010, funding for education programs would be cut 14 percent below the 2005 level adjusted for inflation. Overall funding for the major elementary and secondary education programs would be reduced by $11.5 billion over the 2006-2010 period and by $4.6 billion, or 12 percent, in 2010 alone. What does this mean? More parent involvement, more fundraisers, more committees, more booster clubs; and all simply to maintain status quo. As educational costs rise and budgets reduce, the responsibility of parents and educators will far exceed current expectations. Fundraisers will be the driving force behind the continuation of youth activities. EFSN is proud to be a part of the solution. For more information, call us today at 877.335.8880 |
